here are mine:

an end waits for me
her cold arms outstretched
no pardon or leave

friends are never fiends
alone we cry and we die
blind trust does truth slay

his kiss brings my death
that my heart beats and subsides
and no dream survives

A theme seems in order. Death is as good a theme as any. I have one done, so here goes:

# 1

Dead; six feet under
Nonetheless awake; aware
Waiting for the worms

Her breasts' cool softness
Luscious curves cupped in my hands
Leak through my fingers

My lover was hot
when she had meat on her bones
mmm, adipocere!

jet fuel, burning flesh
jagged fuselage crawls with
undead stewardae

Naked she escapes
From haunted ruins, fleeing
Over windswept moors.

Blankets hide her view
of twitching eyes, gaping maws.
Darkness hides them all.

Here are my three:

#1
Black shadow moving
out of the dark like a fog
Sweet! Count Chocula

#2
Driving the knife deep
It strikes bone and out sprays blood
"I asked for well-done!"

#3
She was a woman
after my heart; the knife she
held was my first clue.

I stuck the knife in deeply.
"Bloody Mary with a twist."

Cutting deep into his face
Makes the pumpkin smile

At rest for eternity
At least we hope so

Bacteria thrive
Body bloats, then putrefies
"Rest in peace?" Yeah, right

Halloween Haikus - by Deborah J. Brannon.

#1:

Lips painted orange,
tasting of Halloween night.
A kiss, trick or treat.

#2:

Jack-o-lanterns scream.
Pirates and ninjas go by:
children no longer.

#3:

The moon glows orange,
cries out with a face bat-black.
This is Halloween.
