Finished up THE COLD SPOT last night - great book, and I'm really glad we're getting another book with SPOT's main character, Chase.

Now I'm plowing through Tim Lebbon's A WHISPER OF SOUTHERN LIGHTS.

Read "The Girl Next Door", "The Midnight Tour", and "The Resort" recently. I realized that my TBR pile had been ignored for far too long. What with the conventions I want to go to, I figured it was time to bone up.

Done with "The Beloved." I started "Heart Shaped Box" but my brain is starting to get overstuffed from the shotgun reading.

Keep going with Heart Shaped Box, it's one of the good ones. I've just bought 20th Century Ghosts...

That was a great book! My favorites were the one about the inflatable boy and the Cape.

I just picked up Sins and Sirens edited by John Everson (very nice guy) and Bubbas of the Apocalypse edited by Salina Rosen and Dark Passions Hot Blood XIII edited by Jeff Gelb and Michael Garret. With names like that, I hope they rock.

My reading list shifts again. Just got a copy of "Children of Cthulhu" and a hardback edition of Derleth's Cthulhu Mythos stories, so I'll get to finally read the ones that I started a few years back. Damn book thieves.

And the local bookstore just got a copy of 20th century ghosts the other day, so I'll be able to grab it by the first of next month, if it's still there. Here's hoping!

I recently read;
Heart Shaped Box by Joe Hill
Ghoul by Brian Keene (read nearly all his other stuff and love it)
and right now I'm re-reading The Association by Bentley Little, my favorite author!

Yes! Bentley Little's new book, "The Academy" is out August 5th! Whooo! :D
Wild, dark times are rumbling toward us, & the prophet who wishes to write a new apocalypse will have to invent entirely new beasts; beasts so terrible that the ancient animal symbols of St. John will seem like cooing doves & cupids in comparison.

"SATANSKIN" by James Havoc

" I AM SECRETLY AN IMPOTANT MAN" by Steven Jesse Bernstein

I need to hit Borders for some new material...

I've recently read:

"The Incredible Shrinking Man" by Richard Matheson

A great book. One of my favorites. I absolutely recommend it. The additional short stories included in the book are wonderful and timeless as well.

"Vaders" by R. Patrick Gates

A good book. Gates writes action superbly, but the ending was disappointing.

"Ghost Walk" by Brian Keene

Brian Keene is one of my favorite writers. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. With one exception. I wished it had been longer. Levi is a great character and I hope we get to see more of him. Keene is awesome. Can't wait for Castaways.

I just started reading "The Beardless Warriors" by Richard Matheson. It is a World War II novel. Really good so far.

Next, I can't wait to dig into Jonathan Maberry's final installment of the Pine Deep Trilogy, "Bad Moon Rising".

Anyone want to conribute to this rant?

Okay...based on how AMAZING Preston and Child's book "Still Life With Crows" was, I went out and purchased every book of theirs that featured Agent Pendergrast. "Brimstone" was okay.

The rest blew. soooo disappointed. Anyone else read these books?
