Welcome, Travis!

I just finished a zombie tale myself. And I just sent a message through myspace to the anthology's page asking questions about it.

Hi Travis,
I started to write a zombie story about an old couple and a zombie caught in their HVAC system. I never finished it. Stupid attention span... look, something shiny!

Hi, Travis. I'd love to hear news about a zombie anthology. I had one in the works for Blu Phi'er's "Night of the Working Dead", but ran out of time and shelved it.

Thanks to everyone for welcoming me!

I would like to say more about the Anthology of the Living Dead, but since we are going through a list of publishers that want us, I can't say much, until we pick one.

I can say I started this thing as a way to promote zombiefriends.com, before I left that site. They didn't want to help themselves and the site is very rough. So, when they backed out of the idea I just started asking all the writer i knew if they wanted to do it anyway and "self publish" with sponsors to cut cost.

The sponsors get an ad in the book and their logo on the back and promo art. So it was all working out, until I had 5 writers crap out on me. That is when I contacted Cassandra Lee, Eric Enck, and a couple others. They agreed and Dani Serra agreed to do the cover.

This is when we decided to start sending this thing to publishers as a package deal. We have a lot of publishers who want it so that is where we are now.

I did get you message Sheldon, but it won't let me send a reply. One of my writers has some personal issue so if you want to send me a story I looking for one to two more. Send me stuff @

Hey all,

Rick Farnswort h here. Love the board/community and thought it about time to post.

I'm also an early forties guy. four kids, lovely wife, living in central Virginia, in a 100+ yo farmhouse. I did Army time too (actually am still in the reserves- 24 years altogether) where I flew helicopters (Apaches and Cobras - so word out to all the legs on the forum!) and did an OIF turn in 03-04. During my day job I'm a scientist (PhD Cell and Molecular Bio).
Oh and I write, a bit, which is the whole point of being here, right?

I like Horror/Dark/Military/Noir/Thriller/with an appreciation of irony/type fiction. And monsters. Love monsters.

I have placed a few short stories in Nossa Morte, Atom Jack and Thuglit. I also have two upcoming in anthologies: GST The Beast Within and of course, the much anticipated Abominations! My novel is sitting in the post slush-pile at Leisure (very aptly named by the way) and also full manuscripts of same being considered by literary agent persons, or persons of literary agentness. I'm also an Affiliate member of the HWA, so I recognize many of you from my lurking there as well. So, there you have it, one lurker effectively de-lurked.

It's great to meet you all, I think this whole Shroud thing is really a class act, and can't wait to see you all at the Kegger at Tim's place on Saturday.
(I'm bringing the Easy Cheese and Ritz.)

Howdy folks,

Daniel Hatadi here, crime fiction writery type guy that's dabbled in horror and has always had an affinity for it. In fact, my favourite reading at the moment is fiction that mixes both of these genres.

I run the crime fiction social network known as CrimeSpace, I have some crime based poetry for a new chapbook called THE LINEUP being published soon and some time next year a crime fiction short story in an anthology for Thuglit magazine.

Spinetingler magazine published a horror short story of mine called UNDER THE BLANKET OF THE SUN (http://www.spinetinglermag.com/library/undertheblanketofthesun.html).

The novel I'm working on (working title: THE ICEMAN'S MULE) straddles the genres of crime and horror by linking 1920s Sydney to the present through supernatural means. I'm close to finishing the first draft, but we all know how much work goes into a novel after that.

I also have acquired an absinthe habit and am enjoying it greatly. Twisted Evil

I'm friends with Christa Miller and Stephen Blackmoore, who are both on here and I'm hoping to get something together for Shroud as soon as I drink enough absinthe.

Looking forward to meeting y'all.

Cheers,
Daniel

Nathaniel, Nope, I interviewed at UDub, but went to UC Santa Cruz, Slugs are way cooler than Badgers...plus the whole beach and full ride fuding thing helped. But I did an lymphocyte postdoc with the FDA, that's almost immunology...

Hello,

I’m a fulltime freelance writer working out of southern California (although I was born and raised in the Adirondack Mountains of upstate New York) with my graphic designer girlfriend and a silly boxer dog named Ember.

My day-to-day writing work for clients consists of some rather mundane topics sprinkled with a few interesting bits. I also do the occasional ghostwriting for clients – as well as writing about actual ghosts, but that’s a whole other topic.

My real love, however, is writing horror and fantasy fiction. These kinds of stories always got my heart and imagination racing as a kid, and they still have that effect today. I’ve been fortunate enough to have quite a few of my stories published in magazines (both electronic and print) and anthologies over the years.

I look forward to being a part of the community here – although I must admit to being a rather quiet individual. I’m not shy, not by any stretch of the imagination; I just don’t tend to say anything unless I think I can actually add to the conversation.
