Hi Tim and everyone,
Pleased to be aboard what looks to be a great cross-section of writers so far. Thanks for posting your photo Tim, nice to put a face to a name.

I'm Derek Fox (sometimes Derek M. Fox - that's Michael) and hail from the UK. Like everyone I'm here because I enjoy writing and all its derivatives.

Married with a grown up family, all flown the nest. We keep in touch, especially when they want something but at least I have more time for writing, less interruption.
We have great countryside where I live so walking is a must; use it for research too - as in old houses, grim woods, ruined castles et al.

My story RAW MATERIALS in BENEATH THE SURFACE emerged from a trip to South Devon a while back. There really is an Old Post Office in Salcombe, turned into a guest house. Its owner/proprietor is as described with a few extra embellishments. Funny how ideas ferment, the story being penned quite a few years after the event. Needless to say we haven't been back.

I teach Creative Writing, have done for 20 years. Teaching and writing is in my blood, so I guess I was born with a pen in one hand and a book in the other.

With 8 books to my name ranging over supernatural. horror, factual and thrillers, I guess I'm doing something right. Still searching for the 2/3book deal for mega-money...oh yeah?

Busy on a psychological thriller right now, with a whole load more ideas pushing for when time allows.

Look forward to linking with you all, having a chat, discussing topics.

Anyone wants to talk about writing I'm up for it.

All the best to everyone.

Derek
