Ah, I misunderstood, Sheldon. Thanks for the correction.

We visited Pittsburgh several years ago, attended one of the last games in Three River Stadium and of course had to go on a pilgrimage to the Monroeville Mall. We were unable to find the plaque about DotD, but we did take a picture of the road that Tom Savini and the "road warriors" drove down. Wink

No worries, Christa.

Yeah, been to Monroeville Mall countless times even before they overhauled it. Now it's not the same.

Christa! I am so glad you made it on here!

I've been talking to Sheldon about lunch in Sanford on Sunday... you and yours available?

Tim

Thanks, Tim. Yeah, I stopped by the website to check something out and just noticed the "Forum" link. Duh. Cool

I think Sunday will work. I'll email.

No, I totally agree, it wasn't the same. It was cool that they kept the original structure, but it isn't seamless so it has kind of a strange feel. Oh well - capitalism. LOL

Hey, you didn't have to edit out what you wrote about knowing Romero & co. One thing I like already about this forum is the wide range of experience and writing chops. Flaunt as much as you want, as long as you don't mind some groveling from those of us who aren't even cool ourselves, let alone know anyone cool. Very Happy

Thanks. I know...but that's not me. But I'm glad you liked that bit of info. And if you meet with me and Tim this Sunday in Sanford, I'll tell you more.

Bring Romero and I'll worship you forever. Smile No, really. How long are you in town for? My husband's best friend from high school, the original zombie fan in our little circle, comes up periodically to visit from RI. He can't make it Sunday, but it would be way cool if we could all get together again and bring him in. (I told him about NECON but don't know if you'll be there, or if he will, for that matter.) He too is a creative type... films more than print media, but it's the stories that count!

Christa:

Yeah, definitely bring him one of these times. I haven't decided if I'll be going to NECON just yet. And I too am big on films. Have made my own independent films as well as have done extra work in some Hollywood films. Again, things to talk about this Sunday. Check out my MySpace page to see which films I've done extra work in. www.myspace.com/sheldonhigdon

Very cool, Sheldon! Good luck with the film, and the comic book. I have considered turning my current ms into a screenplay, though I have no time to give it a shot. Maybe when it's done.

Like your taste in music, too. We've even managed to turn our 4-year-old into a Clash/Social Distortion fan. Wink

Good going on the music indoctrination. I started my son at a young age on hardcore and punk and now he is a big Minor Threat, Dead Kennedys, Bad Religion Fan at 14. In fact, before we left Reno, he caught The Circle Jerks live! *sniff* I am so proud!

My writing background includes a good chunk of screenwriting. Nothing much manifested to speak of other than placing in a few contests and ONE IMDB listing for a low-budget thriller.

Hey all,

I'm Justin . . . I just had my first story (The Money Tree) published in Shroud's "Beneath The Surface" anthology. I'm still relatively new at the whole fiction thing . . . I still don't even know any other writers! That's why I'm here, I guess; to meet some like-minded individuals. I live in Reno, NV, where I've made my living as a musician since 2003. I'm pretty into cooking, and I have an almost unhealthy fascination with deadly spiders. And dogs are my favorite people . . .
