SHROUD MAGAZINE HITS THE BIG TIME.

Postby shroud on Sat Sep 06, 2008 5:52 pm

I just wanted to let you all know that in today's mail, I received a 4-year contract from Ingram Periodicals for the exclusive distribution of Shroud Magazine through all of Ingram's chain partners and independent retailers in the United States and Canada.

While this does not currently guarantee that Shroud will be picked up by these retailers, it DOES mean that Ingram will present Shroud to each of them and do its best to sell it.

If all goes as well as I hope and expect, Shroud Magazine will grace the shelves of every Barnes & Noble and B. Dalton in the Country.

I see this as a major accomplishment in my efforts to legitimize the magazine as well as the genres it showcases.

Quite sincerely I have all the writers, editors, artists and customers to thank for this.

Seriously, you all have supported the magazine over the past 9 months, and it is that support that has got us to where we are now.

So just where ARE we now?

Well unfortunately this does not mean that I can quit my day job and live off of the Shroud teat--although my wife and I would love to do nothing more.

There is an 8 week process, at least, where Ingram submits copies to the retailers and they decide whether they want it or not. Then they place an order for X copies, and I fulfill that order. If they sell, they order more, if not... well who knows?

In an event, we have made it this far! So thank you all and keep your fingers crossed.
