| Steve: I'm not from Canada but up here in Maine we're doing the same. Drinking 'til we can't see straight and waiting on the tourists to unload their hard earned money. |
Man, tourists go to Maine? Who'd a thunk!
Heh. Please to meet you Sheldon. I almost got to Maine one spring while I was hitchhiking through New Brunswick, headed for BC and almost ended up crossing the border.

Pleased to meet you as well. Hopefully next time you'll cross the border and head south to the balmy weather of Portland. For me, I spend most of my time in Pittsburgh, PA but make my way up here as much as possible, eventually I'll get to Novia Scotia. _________________ Soon All Your Fears Will Come True!

Hello everyone. I'm a writer just outside D.C. Currently, I'm writing dark fiction, some nonfiction, a few published pieces, a novel in editing, but still a bit of a newby to publishing.
Because I often move between dark and horror, Shroud seemed to be a good pool for dipping the toes. From what I'm seeing, it's a great community of writers.

I'd be careful where I dip my toes. These waters be infested.
Welcome, raebryant.

My name is Shaun Jeffrey and I was brought up in a house in a cemetery, so I guess it's only natural that I write horror fiction.
I have one published novel to my credit, Evilution, one short story collection, Voyeurs of Death and over 30 short stories published in magazines and anthologies such as Surreal Magazine, Dark Discoveries, Shadowed Realms, and DeathGrip: Legacy of Terror. My recent sales are to Cemetery Dance, Dark Wisdom and Shroud Magazine.
I like to think of myself as part time writer, full time dreamer. _________________ http://www.shaunjeffrey.com

Hey, all. I'm Christa, assistant editor for Shroud and a writer too. Like Sheldon, I live in southern Maine. (Damn, I'm going to have to pull in the other 2 ME horror writers I know.) I have a husband and 2 boys (and Tim, he'll be 45 this year and is still alive, though often exhausted).
I became a horror fan at 17, when my mother forbade me from watching "The Shining" on TV (I was still living at home). When I met my husband, one of the first things I did was read his entire collection of Stephen King novels. Shortly after that, he introduced me to George Romero, and I've never been the same.
I started out writing dark crime fiction, but there's not much of a leap between it and horror. Shroud is set to print my first piece of horror fiction in a few weeks, which I'm really excited about. But I think what jazzes me most about this magazine is its quality, even as Tim willingly gives new authors a chance. The talent I see is already helping me with my writing, and I'm thrilled to be part of Shroud right from its beginning! _________________ Christa M. Miller

Welcome aboard the boards, Christa!
I'm not actually "from" Maine but have called it home on and off since 2000. I'm in Maine now for 3 months, but I currently live in Pittsburgh, home of George A. Romero. _________________ Soon All Your Fears Will Come True!
