I didn't know about doing the contract--downloaded it, signed it, and scanned it. It's now on its way to you by email.

Okay okay...I'll be the loser that asks the question that is on everyone's mind...

How badly did the power outage set back the publication on Northern Haunts? I have been pimping this thing out EVERYWHERE and when they ask when it's gonna be release, I can only give them a blank stare.

Same here. I am making up flyers to leave on the freebies table at Marscon in Williamsburg where I am a writer guest Jan. 16-18th, and like to be able to answer too. Hope everyone is okay too. Thanks.

Hello all,

let me start by saying that you all rock. I sincerely appreciate the supportive emails, the kind words, and the all around enthusiasm about Shroud. You have been wonderful and patient and I would love to take you all home with me and bake you a nice BIG BUNDT CAKE! (LOL ala Greg Hall).

Here's a quick update, but as always you are welcome to contact me with specific questions and I will get back to you as soon as I am able.

1. Issue #4 IS shipping and MANY people have received their copies. There are a few of you that have not yet and I know this. I also know that it's late, and I further know that it being late is completely and totally MY responsibility. However, please know that it is our best issue yet at well over 100 pages, and includes some outstanding fiction.

2. Tom Piccirilli's exclusive Shroud Novella, ALL YOU DESPISE is shipping, with just afew copies left. All of our US customers have received their copies, but our International friends will receive theirs' soon. I am told that it was worth the wait as Tom's story is gripping, heartbreaking, and absolutely THRILLING all in one. All domestic orders will get a free upgrade in regular shipping to priority mail while supplies last.

3. NORTHERN HAUNTS! Whew! This guy clocked in at 366 pages! I am absolutely in love with this collection of homegrown ghost stories and campfire tales. It has been a joy putting it together. So, well... after MUCH delay, the trade paperback final proof has been reviewed and approved. I KNOW we were almost at this point before, but a power outage screwed up the whole process. But now, I am simply waiting on the printer to do its print run and ship them to me for distribution. In the next week or so I will have the hardcover ready for printing as well. I know you all have waited long for this, but given the fact that the profits of NH will go to the American Cancer Society, I wanted to make sure I out it together right. I really feel like it's a project we can be proud of. I also needed to change the dedication to honor two very special horror writers and friends of Shroud that passed way recently: Phil Kuhlman and Joe McGee. I miss these guys and Phil was the big inspiration for NH.

4. Lastly, I'd like to thank you all for recommending Shroud for Bram Stoker awards. It is amazing to be in our first year of publishing and me recommended for two anthology awards and 4 short story awards. Thank you thank you! Please remember that you can get all of our current pubs (with the exception of AYD) through Amazon immediately. If you need something giftwrapped or want to take advantage of Amazon's deals, simply go to:

Thank you all and keep feeding your dark beast within!

Yeah baby!!! I can almost smell the terror. My mom wanted a hard cover, so I don;t think I will even tell her the soft covers are on there way our, or the anticipation will be too much for her :)

Now I'm going to sound ungrateful, but I can't help it. Do you have a target date for the release of the first Hiram? I saw the promo on MySpace, and it's like you waving a steak in front of my face. I have got to gets me some Hiram!!

Shroud rocks. I saw all the nods on the preliminary Stoker ballot.

I'm ready to read some tasty bits in Northern Haunts, too.

I noticed all your nominations in the Stoker awards - outstanding achievement first year or not.

NH Trade paperback is officially shipping, and I'll have the hardcover proof very soon. NH is also currently shipping on Amazon:

http://www.amazon.com/Shroud-Publishing ... _2_rsrsrs2

When you get your copy, PLEASE drop an honest review on Amazon. The more activity the better.

As soon as the hardcovers are ready, I'll be coordinating with all of the writers to get Phil's family a signed copy. I believe this was Scott McCoy's idea, but correct me if I am wrong.

I'll donate the book and get the postage started. If there are "regional contacts" then please let me know. I'll start a new thread on that. Perhaps we can get people gathered at central locations to sign.

Best!

Awesome. I also noticed that Haunts got its first review on Amazon, and it's a five-star at that!

A couple of people have asked if there is any way they can help promote Northern Haunts.

I really appreciate the offer. Here is my suggestion:

?The biggest thing you can do in the near term is get people to interact with Northern Haunts on Amazon. If you know people that have read it, encourage them to review it on Amazon. Have them add it to their wish lists, List-Mania lists, add search keywords, and discuss it as much as possible on the related Amazon message boards. I can’t stress how beneficial this would all be for raising the profile of NH on an International basis. Whatever activity you can generate on Amazon would be HUGE!"

I posted about it with both Shroud Publishing's and Amazon's links, plus recommend it, on Goodreads. it's starting to get a list of people as their To Read lists. I also had flyers about it that i passed out at my author's table and left on promo table at a convention I did last month. Plan to bring more flyers (has both links on it, plus both URLs) to Farpoint and Shevacon, two cons I am guest at this month. Plus twittered that it's on Amazon, with direct link.
And if you can let us authors know when can be ordered through Ingram's, I will let local bookstores here know, especially two that have me doing upcoming book signings.
Plus blogged about it, etc..

Pamela, GREAT job. Will do definitely. The hardcover is at the printer and I am awaiting on them to tell me when I can see a proof.

Thank you so much!

Tim
