I know this got mixed reviews, but I thought THE NUMBER 23 was fantastic. William Sparrow/Fingerling has to be one of the most hopeless, flawed characters out there. Makes for one helluva Noir ditty.

The trouble I had with THE NUMBER 23 is that it's really two films in one, and I think those two films are in conflict. The first twenty minutes has a terrific authentic/noirish feel to it, and then it dives into much different waters. On the overall I enjoyed it a lot more than most people apparently did.

Speaking of Noir, and Tom, I just read your story in Issue 2, just flat out awesome. I've never seen the idea of a sin eater carried in that direction. Awesome stuff.

Thanks, Phil, glad you dug the piece. It was a fun time collaborating with Ken on that story.
