I'll be contacting and hitting a couple of Barnes & Nobles here in Phoenix, AZ this weekend. Although the ones I recently called seemed a bit clueless, I figure maybe I'd check for myself :)

I've been pushing the Monroeville location all week to friends to go pick up the remaing three, I think, copies they have left. And 2 friends in Mass. are picking up copies in Framingham. And this weekend my family in northern Arizona will get their copies, hopefully. And my friends in Los Angeles will be hitting the Long Beach location for their copies.

Andrew: Definitely check the shelf first! I've been hearing a lot of different answers from employees in regards as to whether they carry it or ever will carry it, etc. Meanwhile it's on their shelf. Even at the location by my house, which has sold all of their 5 or 6 copies, told a local artist whom I just met that they don't carry the magazine----they just sold out the day before!!!

The problem is miscommunication. So hit the shelf yourself. :D

Thanks, Sheldon! Communication is definitely a problem. Hopefully, I'll have my camera back in time to contribute some pictures of Shroud on the shelves!

Anyone with me to call every B&N, and everyone else on the list, in the nation in the coming week? Not merely the ones near you, but every single one. Use up all those wasted free long distance minutes. There is no better cause!
We could help one another make a list of phone numbers, and make them aware of the best dark fiction magazine in existence!

Let them know that the first part of a 2-part interview of Weston Ochse, Bram Stoker award nominated author and resident of Arizona, is contained in the pages of Shroud 6. They're hosers if they don't carry it.

I'm going to SE Milwaukee this weekend, so I'll check out the B & N's in Greenfield and Greendale. (Big shopping districts.) I'll give other B & N's a call to in quire 'bout Shroud. :D
Wild, dark times are rumbling toward us, & the prophet who wishes to write a new apocalypse will have to invent entirely new beasts; beasts so terrible that the ancient animal symbols of St. John will seem like cooing doves & cupids in comparison.

I'm with you!

Thanks Danny!

I don't want this effort to coast anyone though, so only if you have free long distance :)

I'm down for calling the country. Any Idea how we should divide them up?

I'll try to make some time to get phone numbers, we can post here.

Perhapps, divide into region and vendor type? Northeast B&N & others, Midatlantic B&N, Mid-Atlantic Hastings, Midwest, etc.? The real work is getting all the numbers!

I can take the northeast, if you don't object...I'll look for numbers tonight and get calling tomorrow.

In other news: I had somebody from home look for the mag at the B&N Bayshore, NY location, they couldn't find it and when they asked they were told that they did not carry it. What is this crap? I was told once already that they would have it, can they at least get their story straight? I'll be sure to call myself tomorrow.
