I'm stoked about reading all the other stories in the book when it comes out. I actually will get to plug the book on one of the local radio stations in a few weeks. The host of the morning show ran into me at the local Hastings and asked me how I was doing after the cancer/paralysis stuff went down, and was pretty amazed to see me walking. Then when he heard that I'm now a published writer and that this project was happening he figured it'd be great radio and has asked me to come in and talk about it, so hopefully I'll be able to generate some interest in the book and magazine in the local market, which is sadly mostly elderly folks who don't believe in blinkers, but I figure that there's a good chance there will be some people who like to read listening so hell, it may do some good!

And it's kinda cool being a positive role model for people dealing with the same issues.

And at the very top of it all, I just think its cool to be part of a community of writers who are so eager to help out with this kinda thing. Cancer is a really crappy thing, and just seeing that people care is a huge boost to the moral of a person or a family dealing with it.

Waiting to see if I aced the rewrite. I have to say, Tim has a forgiving heart when it comes to writers. I edited the second draft myself before submitting this story (red flag). When I got a look at it about two weeks later, I felt like crawling into a hole. I misspelled the FIRST word. Wanna know what it was? Every. I fucked up the spelling of "every". What. The. Fuck. Shocked

I figure most editors would have used the submission as toilet paper at that point.

Wow, I actually went through a full year of middle school where I would misspell that word nearly every time, and I never figured out why I was doing it or why it just stopped the next year. But for some reason that is one of those words that will occasionally slip the human brain because I see it pretty often with stuff people post on Writerscafe.com.

I just wanted to let you all know that I have decided to publish a hardcover version of NORTHERN HAUNTS. I think there will be significant regional interest. In any event, I have signed up with distribution partners nationwide and in the United Kingdom. Ingram will carry Northern Haunts in its catalog, available to Barnes & Noble, Borders, Waldenbooks etc. There's no guarantee that these places will carry it, but it will be available for order through them.

BTW, both versions of Northern Haunts are available for pre-orders NOW. Northern authors receive a discount, so don't order until I've give you the discount code.

Thanks all. Great stories so far!

That's very cool, Tim. I'll definitely be looking forward to the HC, as well as the paperback. Crossing my fingers to get at least one story in. Very Happy

Very cool, and I will be getting a few of each (okay, so I'm a bookaholic, I can quit whenever I want!!)

So, how um.. full is it? If hypothetically, someone still hadn't received a rejection, is there still a chance? You know, hypothetically.. I'm asking for a friend Embarassed

I'm working on my third submission right now, digging into some post-revolutionary war stuff for proper geography notes and all that good stuff. Oh, and there's a monster.

My story was based on a summer camp I went to as a kid. I fudged some of the details, but dug into the whole NEw England day camp experience. Glorified babysitting Confused

Even if that wasn't going to be a horror story, it sounds pretty scary to me.

Paper-reading ghosts, law degree holding serial killers, and vengeful snakes. So far, I'm really enjoying just writing stuff for this one, even if I only manage to get the one accepted.
