Congrats, Jason and Nate. And congrats on the rewrite request Kevin.
I finally got my third sub, "Jug Medley" sent in. What hell that was. It was all finished and I had a couple of words left to trim off when a "file permission error" deleted it off of my disk and of course I didn't have a back up. So I had to completely rewrite it from memory. What a pain that was. At least I have a decent photographic memory. I probably missed a couple of words but it's as close to the original as I can get. I hope Tim likes it.

Best wishes to others who are still waiting.

Congratulations, Kevin!

Brandon, good luck on the "Jug Medley" submission. Sorry about the computer problem; I've suffered similar problems in the past, and I always tell myself I'm going to make a back up copy of all my files… but for some reason I never do.

Also, I received an acceptance this morning for a second story ("Raven's House", the first was "Lures: A Fish Story"), and if I could do cartwheels, I would.

I use Mozy, which is an online service. It's free up to a certain limit as a hook to get you to buy their full system package. The free limit is big enough to handle all the word docs you probably have, unless you have 1,000 War an Peace sized novels. It's a sweet deal, but they did hook me and now I pay for enough storage to backup my family pics. It is still dirt cheap, but free is better and a must have for writers (IMO).

LOL Jason, I know what you mean. I always say I'm going to print out a hard copy or save to the hard drive/make a CD copy and I'm always too tired to remember.

Scott. I'll have to check that out. The only thing is, if they are making back ups through their site, that makes me nervous. I only have enough fiction to make one War and Peace sized novel. That's between three novels and the shorter fiction.

Thanks for the tip. I think I might try Mozy out this weekend. I don't always trust my external hard drive and I don't use it often enough.

I sometimes e-mail manuscripts to my yahoo address as well just to have an extra copy.

Forgot to add a congrats on the acceptance of the second sub, Jason. That's pretty wicked.

I thought I'd extend this to the people on the Shroud forum since this is where it's all going down. I sent Tim a message asking about putting up promo flyers where I could, i.e. independent bookstores, used bookstores, family and friends etc. I've got one already done up in a microsoft word .doc format that should make it easy for anyone who wants to add on a line like "Featuring fiction by local author...". I'll be going out on Monday and start posting them up.

Not only is this a good way to promote your own writing but it will also hopefully do a good deal to get more sales of the anthology so we can raise as much money as we can to be donated to the American Cancer Society, which is what we're here for.

If you would like a copy of this flyer send me an e-mail with the subject line "NH Flyer" to:

foxtat2-- at --hotmail.com
(obviously change the "at" to @)

Other places you could possibly ask to put them up at is, comic book shops, libraries, ask your doctor to put one up at his office, or put it up at your workplace. Let's hope we can raise every dollar we can for this good cause.
