Thanks Nate. Your selfless act and Phil's first hand experience were the inspirations for this. The actual idea for an anthology was Sheldon S. Higdon's.
Yayyyy team! _________________ Tim Deal

that's too cool, I feel all helpful and stuff!
I've already sent in two stories, and I'll try to send in a couple more if the inspiration bug bites again while I'm trying to make my novel/novella look prettier than it does now.

I have one question - are these retelllings of existing New England legends and ghost stories, or completely original tales set in the region?
Thanks!

I blogged about it at my regular blog and another one I write for. Much of my audience is other mothers, so who knows whether they'll submit, but I've got to think there are more darkly inclined moms like me out there. _________________ Christa M. Miller

The ones I did are just original stories, though the one called 'open house' is set in Kingsport, which is part of HP Lovecraft's three made-up cities he placed in New England in his stories, Arkham, Kingsport, and Innsmouth.

I got very excited when I read about this anthology. First off the word 'Northern' hit me - yay! I live in the north. Then the word 'England' - yay! I live in England. Then the word 'New' smacked me in the mouth. Doh!
Okay, I'm still excited but also a bit more nervous. Off to do more research on New England.

| I know the feeling. The closest I've been to New England was the time I saw the Celtics play the Spurs in San Antonio.

If it wasn't for the internet I'd be lost... Of course, it does mean I'm now doubling my procrastination time. _________________ It's not the bang that terrifies, but the anticipation of it - Alfred Hitchcock

Well, it's called "New England" for a very good reason. It's like they took a big chunk of the Cotswolds and dropped it onto North America--and then added a touch of Alaska. _________________ Tim Deal

Okay, my story has been sent. Had a good time writing it, and I've got another idea or two floating around if this one doesn't make the cut.

After a weekend researching New England I know where I want to go on holiday. Gorgeous.
Good luck Blu. I've sent one in too, and I am currently working on number two... _________________ It's not the bang that terrifies, but the anticipation of it - Alfred Hitchcock

| When I'm healthy enough, which could be years...stupid spine...I plan to visit new england and check out all the spooky "Haunted New England" areas. Would also be cool to check out HP Lovecraft's and Edgar Allen Poe's graves.
