You see, now I have to wonder two things:
Did my last two submissions make it to the editor's desk and;
How far along are we on getting the TOC together? Just wondering in general, as I've got some people who love the idea, but want to know when they can expect the anthology. _________________ "Take a look around this bar and tell me how many people in here haven't been in jail. I got one story accepted into the antho and sent off my 2nd one yesterday. I'm wondering how close to being filled the book is?... _________________ www.barrynapierwriting.wordpress.com

See now you have me on edge. I should be sending a third sub in the next couple of days to hopefully tip the scales in my favor so I can get one of those nifty acceptances I've heard so much about.
Either way, I'm really glad to see this antho is coming together. Maybe the money raised might just be the little extra that's needed to save a few lives. I've been reading about too many people dying of this horrible disease lately. On a brighter note; my own mother's cancer has slowed down its growth and she's actually well enough to drive again. This isn't a miracle but any change for the better where her health is concerned is good news to me. We all need some good news. _________________ There is too much artsy talk about death. Hey, it's the golden rule of submissions...no news, means no rejections....yet.

I have a different golden rule:
"No News must mean my email's broken. Honey, is my email broken? Send me a message. It came through, but you're in my address book. Your mom isn't in my address book, call her and tell her to send me a message. I don't CARE if it's long distance, just do it now!" _________________ "Take a look around this bar and tell me how many people in here haven't been in jail. So, what'd you get locked up for?"

Yeah, I know the feeling. I was joking with some of my fellow creative writing students this past semester because they were jazzed that I'd gotten my first few acceptances, but I told them the only BAD thing about that was becoming obsessed with my email.
In fact, for me it's always been like that cliche "when you stop looking for love, you find it". Usually, when I forget about a story, that's when I hear good news.

I'm in!! I was sweating bullets and had two stories in. I liked both, but 1st person is not my comfort zone. Having lost too many relatives to cancer, and watched a few more fight and win, I am deeply honored to be a part of this. I already ordered a few hard and soft copies, mostly for my family, but also to make sure we raise some money for a great cause. _________________ It's better to burn out, than fade away.
