Only three, now that we're paying per poem.

We've had a very nice cross-section of poems and styles sent so far. Within a week or so, I'm going to start responding to submissions. Because of the unique nature of this anthology, and because it's poetry, there'll be a lot more "back and forth" communication between editor and submitor, but that's a good thing. I think this will be a very nice little collection.

Progress going well. Going to fine tune some more things, move poems around, find the best places for everything. We'll probably see the "holy crap he's absolutely insanely anal" round of edits, next.

Hey, Kevin, are you still taking submissions for this anthology? I'm thinking I might try to write one more if I can manage the time.

Good to know I haven't missed this one. Especially after hounding my wife to get back to writing poetry. We both subbed two poems tonight.

Honestly speaking though, it didn't take too much convincing to get her to put pen to paper again. After seeing the quality of work in Northern Haunts, production and content-wise, she became very eager to submit.

Best Wishes everyone!
There is too much artsy talk about death. The knife severs the artery to your heart and you die. There is nothing beautiful in that -- just ask the guy who has the clean it up after you've pumped a bucket of red syrup out of your body.

Poetry folks -

Just wanted to let all those who've submitted and all those thinking of submitting that this will be open to submissions until the end of June. For the most part, I'll be on "silent running" for the next two weeks, mostly because of finals and final grades. However, once I'm free and clear of school and June, I'll open days to commit to this project, and we'll get down to the nitty-gritty of the thing.

Thanks.

Thanks for the heads-up, Kevin! :)
Wild, dark times are rumbling toward us, & the prophet who wishes to write a new apocalypse will have to invent entirely new beasts; beasts so terrible that the ancient animal symbols of St. John will seem like cooing doves & cupids in comparison.
