Horror Magazines

Postby Phil Kuhlman on Thu Jul 31, 2008 1:15 am

With so many good magazines having disappeared over the last few years I have a lot of room on my magazine shelf for new stuff. So I'm looking for other good horror magazines/journals out there. Not just to try to submit work to, but also to expand my reading pallet. I've read Apex and I love the dark sci-fi feel they do, and of course Shroud is as close to perfect as a horror journal should be. So what else is out there?

As I think I've mentioned elsewhere, I took about 4-5 years away from writing for publication (long story).

Coming back to the genre, I feel a little like Rip Van Winkle. A lot of mags that were "up and coming" and the "next big thing" are now long gone (heck, for that matter some of the book publishing companies are long gone!).

They say change is the only constant, and I guess nowhere is this more true than in our biz.
