Writing in general and suggestions on writing for Shroud.

CONTEXT 21: Brian Keene!

Postby Sheldon S. Higdon on Sun Mar 30, 2008 5:34 pm

Is anyone planning on going to Context 21 in Columbus, Ohio--9/26-9/28--? Check out their web site, www.contextsf.org, if you need more information. Brian Keene is the horror guest of honor along with a few others as well.

Speak up or forever hold your peace. :)

Shroud is, in fact, HOSTING a suite party at Contest 21 with live music, bar, snacks, giveaways, and author and artists signings. I sincerely hope many of you can make it.

Also, if you are a Shroud author or artist, feel free to set up a table for sales/signings in the Shroud suite. Tom Straub our Issue 2 cover artists should be there, and Brian Keen has given me a tentative indication that he'll be stopping by time-permitting.

Let's build a buzz!

I wanna go so freakin' bad...

Alas, I'm just a grad student with no proverbial pot to piss in.

Beg, borrow, and steal gas money... you can crash at the party suite!

I can picture it now: Nate, with a belly full of gratuitous beer and a lampshade helmet, passed out on the floor for all party goers to kick their legs up on while they soak in some heat from the roaring log fire, like a polar bear rug. Shit, my pasty white midwestern complexion isn't too far off the spectrum from a polar bear anywho.

I'm going to try my hardest to scrounge up the cash. There's always a market for a kidney out there... somewhere.

Unfortunately we get all of our organ replacements from executed Chinese prisoners... sorry, but you know it's hard to undersell the Chinese, thus the basis for WalMart's success.

Anyway, we hope to see you there, kidney or not.

Nathaniel: It just so happens that I'm looking for a kidney. To add to my collection of human organs. So if you can get to Context 21, I'll have my "medics" standing by...as long as you don't mind waking up in a tub full of ice the next morning. But hey, you'll have fun in the process!

Seriously, hope you can make Context 21.

I took a five year break from writing (long story) and am now just getting back into things. I haven't been to a con in years but hubbie and I have registered for this one.

Looking forward to re-connecting with some old friends.

bah, I wish I could be there. Stupid injury.

How about you guys throw a party here in Texas sometime? I know it's a bit out of the neighborhood but I'm more than willing to make sure that everyone gets as much bbq and Shiner as they can take!
